Wardour class throughly enjoyed making their jam sandwiches (and eating them) before writing their instructions on how they made them.

Oliver Twist hotseating
As part of learning about the Industrial Revolution and Victorians, Wardour are using Oliver Twist as their key text. We have read the story and learnt about the characters as well as watching the film (which the children really enjoyed). To help us write about the characters we did some hot seating. We used props to help us in the role which really helped our writing.
Science Curriculum Afternoon
How lovely it was to see so many parents around the school learning about how we teach science and what super science investigations we explore. Wardour class were investigating the hardness of materials by doing a scratch test and recording their results. They then wrote up their investigation to check if their prediction was correct or not.
Y2 Greenscreening reports
Several parents have asked about our amazing greenscreening reports that we did last term to showcase our IT skills and wondered if they could be put on the bog - so here they are! We researched Antarctica and wrote our reports, then we filmed groups of children using a greenscreening app called Doink. This then allowed us to put an image from Antarctica to look as if we were reporting from there. All the children enjoyed our exit point where we had a screening of our reports for parents to enjoy.
Welcome to Wardour's blog!
A very big welcome to Wardour's Y2 blog! We hope to be able to share all the fantastic learning we do in and out of the classroom.

Happy Monday to everyone - last week we welcomed governors into classes where they looked at
writing. They were really impressed with the quality of work produced by
the children! Parents came and joined us for the science afternoon and
thoroughly enjoyed getting involved in a range of investigations. A big
well done also goes to the Year 3 and 4 children who took part in the trampolining
competition - you all did fabulously.
